HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication
This training allows students to assist clients with medications within the scope of their organisation's policies and procedures. Our workplace Medication Training is provided in the following format:
Theory Session - Students undertake a 3-hour theory training session. This includes a range of activities and the students are supplied a PowerPoint, a learner guide/textbook and are required to complete a theory book assessment.
Simulation Session - Once they have successfully completed the theory assessment, students are required to attend a 3 hour simulation session. Within their workplace, students will undertake a simulation of assisting 5 clients with their medication.
Observation Session - Once students have successfully completed their theory and simulation assessments, our trainer will attend a medication round with the students in their workplace and observe the student assisting 5 clients with 5 different types of medication using at least 3 different modes of administration.
These sessions are delivered over a minimum 6 week period. Each session is delivered 2 weeks apart to allow learners to develop their skills. Please note, duration may vary depending on the learner capability and availability of workplace observations. (Note the workplace observations must be supplied by the learners employer).
