Alternatively, if we are currently delivering training in your area we can review our current students and assess their suitabiltiy for a Traineeship with your organisation. We only suggest students for Traineeship after they have been actively engaged in training for a minimum of 4 months. Within 4 months they will have completed:

  • Foundations of Practice - Students will have an in depth understanding of the history of community services and leisure and health in Australia. They will understand how it fits in the context of the Community Services Sector.. They have begun their journey to become effective reflective practitioners operating within established practice frameworks.
  • Communication and Diversity -Students will be able to demonstrate competence in recognising and responding appropriatley to diversity. They will have strong communication skills and a strong self and situational awareness.
  • Program Design, Development and Evaluation - Student's will have completed (via in class simulation) a full needs assessment, developed an appropriate Leisure and Health Activity, facilitated the activity and evaluated it's success identifying potential areas of improvement.
  • Individual Support and Workplace Health and Safety - Student will have covered a range of topics, including WHS theory and a range of practical activities including use of hoist machines, standing machines, slide sheets and other commonly used support equipment.

This is the perfect point for students to commence a Traineeship. Students will be required to continue to attend training (1 day per fortnight) for the remainder of their course. In some circumstances employers may be eligible for government traineeship incentives.
